Everyone Needs Relationships!

In order to fulfill our mission of "Making and Maturing Disciples of Jesus", we understand that relationships are essential building blocks.

We need to have relationships with people who are not yet followers of Jesus so that we might be used in His hands to invite them to know Him.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. -- 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 NIV

We also need to have relationships with other disciples so that we might support each other and continually shape each other into Christlikeness.

 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
  If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
  Though one may be overpowered,
  two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
-- Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

As iron sharpens iron,
  so one man sharpens another.
-- Proverb 27:17 NIV

Where can you connect with others?

Within the body of Montrose Christian Church there are many opportunities to connect with other people in meaningful relationships.  To get started you might want to get involved in one or more of the following ways:

  • Ministry Teams - Seeking to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community and within the local church, several ministry teams serve in wide variety of ways.  Ask around or call the church office if you need some help finding a place to plug in to serve.
  • Family Awana - This gathering of families happens Tuesday nights at 6pm during the school year.  All ages are welcome to come participate, and this is a great place to get to know others.

The best way to begin to get connected with others is to dive in and introduce yourself to someone.  So, please take the time to say "hi" to someone.  Every meaningful relationship starts there.
